Last Weekly Teebird Report 9.24.26 Bramble Team Best Ball and Luncheon
It was the last Thursday in September for the Teebirds season ending outing at the Weibring Golf Course. Nineteen players gathered on-time for the 9 am shotgun start. Dave Williams mastered the art of forming 5 balanced teams for the 9-hole Bramble and Best Ball Team event. Al Pote had ample cold beverages ready in the cooler along with Wayne Lockwood as STARTER with scorecards and handout with 8 Hole CHALLENGES. Thanks to all for the smooth start on the cool overcast morning. All scoring was posted on Golf Genius.
The top Bramble scores were really tight for 9 golfers ranging from 39 to 41!
- Al P alone with 39. Gary D, Dave A, and Ron S with 40’s. The next 5 scores of 41 were carded by Rich S, Gary K, John C, and Lane C.

The final luncheon was held under the outside shelter where the group of 20 enjoyed ample buffet servings from Moe’s Southwest Grill. Tasty desserts were provided by Joyce Manard. All setups and cleanup were taken care of by Social Committee persons Sandy Groves and Al Pote.
Thank you Sandy and Al for your work all season for social events and drinks weekly! Thanks go to Wayne for arranging the starters and scorecards all season; to the Bahnsen's for tracking and distributing the prize balls; Dave W for managing the weekly sign ups, trying to tame Golf Genius, and maintaining our website; and Hank for working with the area golf courses to arrange our plays, serving as treasurer, and arranging cool prizes for our special events. And to all of you who volunteer as starters during the year, thanks for stepping forward! Teebirds shared lunch with the Pro Shop staff to thank them for their work and cheerful presence.
At the conclusion of lunch, Dave and Hank called out the winners of today’s play for Bramble scores, Team Best Ball and each of the Hole CHALLENGES. A ticket drawing was held by Chuck McGuire for the following prizes:

- 2 Nine or 18-Hole Round of Golf compliments Weibring Pro Shop (Tom and Max)
- 4 18-Hole rounds with cart compliments of Brian at Ironwood Pro Shop

- 1 $10 Gift Card Moe’s Southwest Grill
- 8 Golf Ball sleeves, towels and other golf accessories donated by TeeBird members
All attendees received at least prize.
Dave W and Hank thank all of our Teebird members for a fantastic season of golf. Your good positive spirit and how you had fun coming together each week at different community golf courses was rewarding. It was our privilege to serve our ISU Teebirds during the 2026 season!
TeeBirds will continue Thursday plays at Weibring with a 9 AM tee time, with one play at Lakeside CC. Play will be Open Sign Up and you can pick your own game, tee box used, and game format. Watch for the usual GG email sign up notice every Friday morning. We will play as long as there are members signing up!
