Teebirds Weekly Report5.28.26 Lakeside CC Individual, High-5 and Team Best Ball
A pleasant 8 am start on this beautiful morning at Lakeside CC. Justin, the person in charge of the pro shop had the carts ready for our 4 groups of 17 Teebirds ready to keep the ball in the fairways and out of the bordering streets. Al Pote did double duty providing drinks in the cooler and serving as our STARTER with High-5 tally sheets and Teebird scorecards for Individual play. Dave W provided the GGID for Golf Genius score-keeping and final adjustment of Teams. All Teams used GG faithfully that helped with final scores. Thank You!
Posting scores close to the course par of 32 has always been challenging for our Teebirds, particularly with Individual play and sharply sloped greens. The additional High-5 challenge rewarded drives from each tee that came to rest in the fairway with a 5.
Accurate putts on each green benefitted since each stroked putt was -1 from the 5.
The best Individual scores were: Paul Kahle 40, +8; Ben Kahle 40, +8; Dave Anderson 41, +9; Scott Lage 41, +9; Al Pote 41, +9; and Ken Smiciklas 42, +10.
Only 1 stroke separated the best 2 Teams with scores of 75 and 76. Dave Williams, Ben Kahle, Scott Lage and Ron Smith was the stronger Team in spite of best efforts from Sandy Groves, Ben Kahle, Dave Anderson and Ken Smiciklas with 76. Only 1 Scorecard Note that of Dick Manard had the longest drive in the fairway of his Team on hole # 3!
The top players with the High-5 challenge were Ken S, 24; Cal Lawrence, 21; Ron Smith, 18; and Al Pote, 16.
PRIZE BALLS:
- Paul and Ben Kahle with low individual scores of 40.
- Best High-5 player Ken Smiciklas.
- Best Team Score of 75: Dave W, Ben K, Scott L, and Ron Smith.
Next week, June 4, we will play a SCRAMBLE at Ironwood with Bryan as our clubhouse host. The STARTER is Gary Klass for the 8 a.m. Teetime.
